Is the work related to the old shed that runs alongside this siding?
Are there plans to bring this back into use, ready for the new trains?

Will this involve as the timetable suggests on RTT, the peak extra services running on the Chester & Ellesmere Port lines in the morning and evening peak, respectively?
I wonder since the fleet size has reduced and there are high mileage units with restricted use?
Following the withdrawal of 508134, the peak 6 car on the West Kirby line was cut.
Then following the withdrawal of 508110, when the Northern line returned to a 15 min frequency in Sep 2020, one of the peak 6 cars on the Ormskirk line was cut.

No, it’s not connected with the old shed. At the present time there are no plans to reinstate any of the sidings inside the shed either before or after the 777s come into service.

777049 is still at Crewe, the other two are at Kirkdale. 013 is due to be commissioned shortly
Any idea what unit failed earlier this evening on platform 1 at Liverpool Central, forming 2U41 Southport-Hunts Cross?
This is usually a 6 car service and I missed on OpenTrainTimes, if it was rescued by another unit?
I know 5D48 (6 car) was currently in the reversing siding at Central - if this rescued the unit on platform 1, a 12 car train would have been formed.
Does anyone know if this took place by an chance please?

It was 5D48 that failed entering the reversing siding, blocking the route to Hunts Cross. 2U41 units assisted it to Kirkdale as a 12 car

What a very rare site to see (at least outside of the depot).
Do you know if the 12 car went via the usual Moorfields platform 2 or went via platform 1 and crossed over on the approach to Sandhills?

I don’t know but would assume it went via the down line (plat 2) as the up line had trains queuing back
Some 777 news for next week.
777002/005 moving from Kirkdale to Crewe Tuesday night and 777010/049 moving from Crewe to Kirkdale on Wednesday night

Do we think the return of the 15 min service will still likely to go ahead from 11th April, there have been quite a few cancellations due to a shortage of train crew over the past week?
I hope it does return, would be great to see again.
