507016 is now in the new Merseyrail livery and, like 507021, has been denamed. Another externally tidy unit done while the likes of 508112 trundle on!
507003 + 507004 formed this evenings West Kirby 6 car.
508108 is the latest unit to be re-liveried.
507018 has just been done as well, working with 507019 on the Southport - HX line for the past 3 days.
Any idea when the internal refresh will start ?
Sorry, had a problem with the previous post. It will hopefully start during Summer. :-)
Due to signalling problems in the Hall Road , some services on the Southport line will be subject to delay and possible cancellation.
Beautiful sunshine, temperatures in excess of 20°C and huge crowds out for day trips on the Sefton Coast. So, what do Merseyrail do? That's right, use a full complement of three cars on the Southport line. Some appalling overcrowding witnessed today while units fester out of service at Southport and Kirkdale depot. Just so poor.

To be fair in the afternoon they did start forming the Southports up to 6 cars... Just a shame they were so slow to react to the crowds.
First day of summer Sunday timetable today, and all services on Southport line are 6 cars today.
One thing that sometimes ends up working against the Southport line services on the return back to Liverpool is the long stand time there is before departure at Southport which means that on warm days even a six car can be fit to burst on departure , meaning passengers at the intermediate stations to Ainsdale and Formby will struggle to board.
This is a long shot but why not have an unplanned relief at times of high demand between Southport and Sandhills where it can then be turned back towards Southport .
