The first of the previously in service units to undergo refurb and take to the tracks was 508103. That being said, 508124 was relatively early in the programme.

Other than the likes of 508108/110, which I'm not sure about, units which will be amongst the next few to receive overhaul will be 507010, 507015, 507031, 507033, 508140, 508141 and 508143.

Now that 508124 has come off overhaul,507031 is being done now (it went in some time around the beginning of last week)
The 10.36 Hunts Cross - Southport was cancelled at Moorfields yesterday (Sunday) following a train fault (appeared to be 507010 + 508131 judging by where they ended up at Kirkdale depot). As a result the 6 car in front, 507020 + 508112, was split in order to deputise. They continued as 3 cars into the afternoon despite 507023 being sent to Southport from Kirkdale not long after the cancellation.
This morning there is numerous short formations :

0658 Southport - H Cross , 0813 Southport -H Cross , 0806 H Cross-Southport, 0921 H Cross -Southport, 0750 Ormskirk-Liverpool Central, 0820 Ormskirk - Liverpool Central .

0752 Chester - Liverpool

0752 Chester - Liverpool

Due to an overnight derailment on kirkdale depot which trapped some units. Thought to be a track fault
Another short formed service this morning was the 08:06 West Kirby to Liverpool. 507004 ran the service and was very busy. I passed it at Birkenhead Park waiting for a friend to come off it and it was so full in the middle and front coaches that nobody else could get on, but the rear coach had plenty of room. Its funny the way that people behave isnt it?!
This was caused because the unit that forms the following service was taken the 0821 Wk - Wk was taken out of service on the first trip from West Kirby at Birkenhead North and there being no spare units available , a decision was taken to split the six car down to provide a set for this service , better to have both services running than a 30 min gap.
Somebody threw a microwave oven off the bridge on Eastbank street in Southport this evening, causing a power surge and the ensuing disruption... Southport Line services were turning back at Formby for much of the evening peak all because of some inconsiderate moron.
Two of the ten Southport workings today ended up as 3 cars, but both split from partner units during the day according to Real Time Trains, one around 7 am, the other around 3 pm. Not sure if this is a reliable source or not to be honest, but at least the other eight were pairs all day. Some excellent units out there today too, 507003 + 507005 an obvious highlight.
Does anybody have an idea whats happening to Hightown station, which is my local station. All the trees have been chopped down on platform 1. This could be a development into a car park due to ongoing demands for one but would be too small for housing. Also does anybody know what unit was involved in the overnight derailment at kirkdale.

It may be that the trees are chopped down due to the onset of the leaf-fall period, to stop the rails being contaminated by wet leaves, but it's only a guess.
