when i was coming home from southport on sunday i noticed the next train was six cars towards southport then on the platform 1 board at hightown it said it was short formed.
i think that carlisle secuirity and the BTP should do more checks, especially were trains are graffiti attacked or vandalised, and checks overnight

No unusual sidings are used over Christmas.
As many units as possible are stored near, or in, depots, or at least more secure places.
Southport, Kirkdale, Birkenhead North and Birkenhead Central will probably get the most units, with perhaps Liverpool Central and Moorfields (Northern Line) stations also used for stabling 8 units, if it is necessary.
Rock Ferry will also be getting 4 units.
Carlisle Security and BTP are patrolling the network on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
There's no stabling at Liverpool Central or Moorfields this year. It was only done last year to provide a service between Liverpool Central and Hunts Cross after Christmas, when it was isolated from Kirkdale with the Sandhills bridge renewal
Quick question... How do Wirral Line trains get onto the Northern Line if the Wirral Line is lower in the loop than the Northern Line? Is there a link somewhere?

Yep, the so-called Stock Interchange Line diverges from the Northern Line at Paradise Junction (where the line enters the single tubes on the approach to Moorfields from Central). It passes through platform 2 of James Street, joining the Wirral Line at Mann Island Junction.
what trains are due for overhall after christmas/new year?
merry xmas and new year
507021 is due very soon, probably next once 507032 is finished. Then we move onto units like 507014, 507030 and 508124, which were amongst the first to be repainted back in 2002/03 into the older Merseytravel livery.
Could someone explain what the older livery is? I Havnt a clue and cant notice the difference!!
Shambles yesterday after 3 signal failures on the Wirral line! One between Birkenhead Park and West Kirby
One between Hooton and Chester and the other in the loop, The only trains going anywhere between Liverpool and Birkenhead were New Brighton trains, Where passengers had to broard to either Hamilton Square (CTR, EP) or Birkenhead North (WK)
Got caught up in all that yesterday afternoon. Ellesmere Port trains were also running in to Liverpool, with Chester trains terminating at Birkenhead Central. One Ellesmere Port bound train departing Liverpool Lime Street 15 minutes late, and loosing another 15 minutes by Liverpool Central. NRE was suggesting the service continued running, being 40 late by Rock Ferry, but there was no sign of it, with the following Ellesmere Port service starting from James Street and running 6 minutes late.
Passenger information boards were all over the place. A Liverpool bound train from Chester seemed to think it was going to Chester, with all the announcements being 'This train is for Chester, the next station is xxx' with the xxx being the station we had just come from.
There does seem to be problems of late with some of the Passenger Information displays at stations, especially Lime Street. On a few occasions recently have noticed that the next train is shown as the one that has long since departed, and will still show this when the next train has arrived, which causes some confusion when passengers board and hear the on board information which contradicts the wrong info displayed at the stations.
