Services on the ormskirk line were disrupted for a time yesterday afternoon after a drunk kicked off and went berserk on the 6 car unit that was supposed to form the 16:35 journey from ormskirk to liverpool this resulted in the 16:35 and 16:50 journeys from ormskirk being cancelled and minor delays on the line for a time after.
No service Hooton - E Port due to flooding at hooton
Further to this Ellesmere Port - Hooton line is still suspended .

Surprisingly with the amount of rain out of the sky yesterday that there is no flooding at Ledsham on the Chester line , there has though been a signal failure between capenhurst and Hooton but it was only causing slight delays .

There has been problems due to Flooding in the Waterloo area but that is now receding now .

507032 is the next one for overhaul, it's there now

The signal hasn't failed. It is a 2-aspect (Red & Green) signal about 1.5 miles before Capenhurst station on the way to Chester.

The track in front of the signal is flooded, and a 30mph Emergency Speed Restriction has been imposed. The signaller has to show a single yellow leaving Hooton, then at the next signal, stop the train, contact the driver, and advise to pass the signal at danger and proceed at caution. If the signal was 3-aspect, a single yellow would be displayed.

Trains are loosing around 3-4 minutes on the way to Chester as a result.

Wirral PPM at 72% up to now. Northern at 94%.
But if the tack was flooded anyway wouldnt the track circuit be a bit dodgy to say the least because of the water.

That would probably explain why I saw one of Happy Al's Olympians in Ellesmere Port.
Happy Al is usually these days second resort after asking Arriva .
Another Chester train was cancelled today at Birkenhead Central despite being only 5 minutes late. The second time in the space of a few days I've noticed this, and not ideal. Thankfully, the following service, formed of 507007, was quiet and allowed everyone who was chucked off 508140 to get a seat.
That is regular as clockwork on the Chester line now , unlike other lines any delay just compounds throughout the day until a service is picked off for cancellation to get the timetable straight again.
