I think the scraped paint on the doors of most trains are eyesores, I think behaviour on trains and at stations needs sorting out. I think trains need to be cleaned more inside too, like when northern rail shut the doors on turn around at southport, but would be difficult when their are short turnarounds
Well, they were 6 cars today albeit one of the four Ormskirk/Kirkby trains ran for a couple of hours as a 3 car (507031) presumably due to failure. It was corrected by home time however - needed as it arrived from Ormskirk completely crush-loaded.

One more unit with cab air con equipment is 507018. I've also noticed 507014 appears to only run in 6 car formation recently. It is a regular on the Southport and Ormskirk evening peak journeys, but made an appearance on the Ellesmere Port line today.
507014 is indeed a no split 6 at this prsent time , the unit it is paired with is the good unit .
The West Kirby am 6 car is short formed this morning with 508112 taking the brunt. Yesterday it was on the West Kirby line with 508104. I wonder if it is due to 104 failing or something else? 508139 is out on the West Kirby line again today, must be 4 or 5 days on the run that it has ran West Kirby's, although it is on the diagram which will see it replaced at West Kirby and (hopefully) replaced by a 6 car at around 4:30pm. Then it will support the Ellesmere Port line service.

It was shortformed due to flooding on the depot overnight which meant the 3 units that come off for the West Kirby line had to be sourced from elsewhere.

Still waiting for Merseyrail to specify reason for cancellation in TRUST.

2W03 0706 West Kirby: This train has been cancelled due to an unknown reason (TZ)
2W04 0721 West Kirby: This train started from Birkenhead North due to an unknown reason (TZ)
508117 on the Southport Line had 2 doors out of use! I was wondering if this was allowed to run in service as I'm sure I've read something somewhere to say it isn't?
It was out all day and the doors out of use were in separate carriages. Probably a bit more unusual to have two sets out of use but not unheard of, I have seen photos from a fellow forum member showing a 314 with a whole carriage out of use as both sets of doors were out of use. At least in this instance it was in two separate carriages. It was paired with 114 too, one of the best with one of the worst.

It isn't quite no split altogether as it's been seen with various different partners over the last couple of months, including 005, 009, 023 and another yesterday. Would've been a logical choice for the Polar Express with the problems it has, but no.
New fares released today:

Liverpool-Chester via Birkenhead increased to £6.55S/£6.95R
Liverpool-Southport now £5.80S/£6.20R
Liverpool-Ormskirk now £5.90S/£6.30R
Liverpool-Kirkby now £3.20S/£3.60R
Liverpool-Ellesmere Port now £5.00S/£5.40R
Liverpool-West Kirby now £4.40S/£4.80R
Liverpool-New Brighton now £3.10S/£3.50R
Liverpool-Hunts Cross now £3.00S/£3.60R

Southport-Chester now £7.55S/£7.95R, and ticket now restricted to via Birkenhead only.

Most short distance 1 stop journeys on Merseyrail now £1.60S/£1.75R

All of the above fares on the Ellesmere Port/Chester line are easy to circumvent with a selection of anomalies! (e.g. Liverpool-Shotton/Flint is only £6.40S, and valid via Chester etc). Anyone on the Wirral Line going to Chester should look at getting a Bidston-Shotton ticket for £3.90 return, which is valid via Hooton & Chester!
