No, it was nothing to do with the 777s. It was internal signalling upgrades to replace obsolete systems.
Has the fault-free running testing of the 777 units stalled at the moment?
According to RTT website, there was no daytime running last week and none today.
Does anyone know what unit number they are up to with the fault-free running-last I seen a few weeks back it was 777002 (this moved to Crewe last week as mentioned in post #3539 above).
I think 013, 015 & 049 are due to be tested but not sure when this will begin.

There was a gap because the units had all completed the FFR. They were waiting on the three from Crewe last week. 013 and 015 have been commissioned and 013 should have been out today but something must have gone wrong. There will be a pause over the three days of Aintree on account of the intensive service between Kirkdale and Sandhills

Makes sense....although have 777007 and 777009 undergone fault-free running yet?
007/009 were expected to be commisioned after 002 and 005, but the three from Poland seem to have been done before them. Not sure if they’re at Kirkdale or Crewe at the moment to be honest

I have 007/009 down as having transferred back over to Kirkdale (from Crewe) on 8th Feb 2022.
A few images of
777024 and
777030 stabled in Switzerland and at least 7 units seen in this
video from Siedlce, Poland.
The units must be dotted all around the manufacturing sites in Switzerland and Poland now.
Realistically there is no space to put them until some 777s go into service and some 507/8s are sent for scrap. Crewe is full and there’s no room on Merseyrail either. Then it’ll be possible to bring more over from the continent
Has anyone been around to see how the operation for Aintree is going this year?
