I think the key is Ham Square which almost certainly was most affecte by the Central closure.
Re-liveried 507031 and 508114 both in service today, with 114 on the Kirkby line and 031 New Brighton. Of these, 114 lacks an 'M' on the 64662 end but has one on 64705. 031 has 'M's at both ends.
Another unit is in the process of losing its previous livery at Birkenhead North now - does anyone know which one please?

Thanks. It appears to be just about completed now. Couldn't tell if another unit was in for the same treatment, with 508112 in front of the depot glass this afternoon.
I notice the newer style caption boards are going up at Liverpool Central's Northern Line platforms, unfortunately. Only one of the three was working on platform 1, and this failed to show carriage numbers and some delayed units were being shown as on time. These need to be re-programmed as a matter of some urgency to show train lengths because it's just exacerbating the crowding at Liverpool Central during afternoon peak.
I travelled to Liverpool Central today and back on 508114. I am angry that they're replacing the original information boards. I don't think that there is nothing wrong with the current type that are being replaced, i agree with 507009 that it will be irritating not knowing how many coaches your train is, plus building up of people not using the full length of the platforms. I've also noticed that the hunts cross bound platform ends at both waterloo and seaforth and litherland have been fenced off with new metal railings. I was very impressed with 508114 and does anybody know the other unit working the southport line with the new livery today?
I guess it is probably so that systems will interface properly. Even a verbal announcement on the platform would suffice and then for the hard of hearing, maybe a poster outlining how long each timed train will be if it cannot be added on to the information boards.

I wouldn't get angry over it,the current ones when first installed didn't show train length. It'll follow on at some point

Thank you, saw it through the glass at North today with old livery removed. In front of it at the depot was 508125 with its front door open. A very scruffy unit too, ideal choice for the next re-vinyl.
508115 is now back in service and was on the West Kirby line today. This one looks the best so far for me, with the window frames painted much better than some of the earlier recipients.
