These two units had to have a overhaul to continue in service , which would have required either Merseyrail or Stadler to pay for it , neither seemingly prepared to pay for an overhaul that would have given the train maybe around 12 months of use , would that be value for money in our council tax.
All it means is there is less resilence in the fleet , under normal circumstances its 48 units in service so still enough units out of what is now 57 not 59.

777006 is the other unit. Both are having modifications
Is there any news on what the problem is that requires the modifications to be carried out.
