There is two main timetable change dates one in May and the other in December .

Most major changes that happen in the timetable are done in the December timetable these days , the May timetable changes are usually changes that don't have an effect nationally.

The reasoning for that is that because one change in a timetable at Chester may affect service at Crewe , Shrewsbury and Manchester , which in turn may affect services along the West Coast Main Line , Marches Line and Leeds , its like a ripple effect.
The RMT didn't mention December, though: they specifically said these supposed changes were due in May 2015. Cue the backtracking and "well it will be December instead" type lines.

I didn't mean it in that context .

Its the way Network Rail do there timetabling , any changes for May 2015 will have been through a timetabling conference already , what we are hearing is probably the starts of outline negotiations for December 2015 and that is probably all they are at the moment .

You'll find that's because it was scheduled for May 15! And yes as any member of traincrew could tell you it was. And yes there's plenty of paperwork to go with it. Believe me I'd love it if the latest stupid idea was off the table altogether but I don't think you quite understand the mindset of the current administration.
ls1911 , what was the level of service going to be ?
I don't understand the logic in the backward step other than to halt the issue of overuse of the exisiting rolling stock. Of which a decision to replace still hasnt been made. The only reason why this has been delayed in my opinion is to decide if the new trains need to be dual voltage?

A Saturday timetable on all lines with extra 6 car diagrams on the Southport and Chester lines. I've no idea if the 6s were to continue on the other lines I'm afraid.

Despite the fact that less than 24 hours after publishing the "secret plan" specifically for May, it was flatly denied by Merseyrail as incorrect. Obviously they can't deny there won't be any changes to the December 2015 timetable: it's still well over a year away and there may be necessary timing changes.

"Any member of traincrew could tell you" implying it was freely shareable information yet none reported it to any of the local press in advance of the RMT story. Let's just say I doubt that.

Seems as you also believe when the stock is replaced there's going to be more than at present not less I don't expect you to believe it for one second!!
Oh if only the fantasy world was true!!

Absolutely, given that you claim new trains are about to be ordered at all, when recent quotes attributed to Merseytravel call for "modernisation and refurbishment" of the existing rolling stock.
