There was scorching on the very back of 2713, inside. It's still visible if you look very carefully - it's minimal though. Like I said in my previous post though, all of which I said was without having seen the damage to 2721 ;-)!
Anyone know what diversion the 8/9/10/10A/10B/10C are taking as Prescot Road is closed on the approach to town because a derelict building collapsed into the road.

On a completely different note, 2408 was on the 9 today which interestingly was the same duty Pulsar 2675 operated yesterday!
Arriva is going VIA Edge Lane from London Rd Then going up holt Road. Stagecoach are going via West Derby Road then down Shiel Road. Although I seen 27718 10A coming down Green Lane with passengers on it.
ive a couple of pics on me phone of the damage to 2721 il upload when i finish work if i remember to.
My personal opinion is its gonna be a gonner but il let you make ur own mind up.
Managed to grab a ride on new arrival 7638 this morning, that's quite a nice bus with few rattles and doesn't half shift! Not the best Marshall, but far from the worst.

Having seen a few pictures on Facebook of 2721's damage, I'd certainly say that it could be repaired considering that it's still got a good five years to go in service yet. We'll see anyway, but the damage certainly isn't as bad as described in the Echo as only the back window and interior panels are burned and not 30% of the interior. The damage hasn't reached the second to last row.

2001 vehicle so probably the best part of 4 years really.

Date new was April 2001, and taking into consideration the ever mentioned 15 year rule is existent and something to go by, it would have an approximate 3 years 6 months left in service. The damage appears to have affected the N/S rear moreso than any other area, the interior is somewhat singed at the rear too. Its difficult to compare to the aforementioned 2724 and 2727 after their unfortunate collision a couple of years back, though their damage sent the immediate rumours of 'write-off' yet extensively repaired. As its an un-P&P'd example, this being 2721, it may have a lower book value in comparison to its Southport-based sisters.

2407 has somewhat slipped off the radar since its unsavoury incident and its future still appears to be unwritten, though this will have and approximated 2 years remaining in use being registered around the millennium.
