One has to question how often they are doing engine steam cleaning ?
Theres also been a few in bad crashes over recent years hasnt there - one at Chester, one on the 26/27.. maybe they are all doomed sooner rather than later

Maybe a design fault in the Alexander bodywork restricts the cooling of the engine.

2456 had a minor engine fire last year before it was repaired and sent back to Speke.

The green lane "Curse" has wrote off 2404, 2407, 2408 and 2721 alone this year

They were all fine at Speke thought how strange! And the Tridents were fine at Speke too but LS dont seem to keep them on the road
Surprised it wasn't 2415, that engine has been squealing like hell recently.

2404 had the engine fire today
2407 had an engine fire by the Roy Castle Centre Liverpool
2408 had an engine fire after running dead from Speke Depot after a short loan to the depot from GL
2412 had the fire running dead on the 487 route
2413 was the one that crashed in Kensington on the 26/27
2414 was the one whose accelerator also jammed and it hit a Wrightbus Cadet from behind in Birkenhead Bus Station

24?? was the one whose accelerator jammed and it hit various bus station objects in Chester before coming to a stop on some railings

You stupid boy, pike LOL

Now that is a classic. Seriously though Green Lane need to consider testing these ALX300s to make sure there safe to be on the roads of Liverpool, it is only a matter of time before someone is injured, withdrawing all of them altogether may be the best option.
According to the Echo, 2404 was working a 10A when it caught fire!!!
I think that'll probably be like most other Echo articles, lazily researched and full of flat out lies.
