Are they not return journeys running back from Prescot to Liverpool rather than being dead? seems that way from tracking on bus times
Would it not make more sense to number these as a 'short' route 10? That has surely got to be better than bringing another route number into the mix? More route numbers only fuel arguements for franchising as the bus network becomes more complex.

Apologies, they do indeed return as a 10S from Prescot

Essentially that’s exactly what a 10S is. A short 10 (ran by buses from the 10B).

The different route number is to symbolise the fact it is largely for the school pupils and the fact it terminates in an unusual place, rather than say Prescot Bus Stn. (I’m not sure if the 660 still operates?)
4411 now at Green Lane can confirm it’s the actual bus tracking on 26 duties as I’ve just seen it.

Usual disclaimer with BusTimes not being 100% accurate but 4431 is tracking on the 12/13, I'll try and take a look and see if it also there. — Edit: Have indeed seen it for myself on the 13.

Apparently I've been informed that 4411 and 4431 are on loan to Green Lane to cover for rail replacements, maybe there might be more but I'm not too sure.
According to this week's Traffic Commissioner's notice, the 10B is being withdrawn from 31st March (unless someone has made a big boo boo)

It appears to be the tidying up of old registrations and duplicates.

You’ll also see the routes below are the Rugby 1 and Pontins 41. Neither of which have operated for several years now
That would make sense
Another arrival from Bootle depot is 2921, which is out of the 18 today, albeit tracking as sister vehicle 2920.
