If it's just the glass that was damaged I'd imagine it won't see it off just yet. 2471 and the rest of the DAFs will still be needed for another few weeks at least

Yes 2471 should be quite easy to repair for the interim. They could just take the door glass or even the whole door if its easier off an already withdrawn Myllennuim for 2471.

It'll be back out next week. They've got around a month or so left on the road apparently

Seeing as they're hybrids rather than bog standard double deckers I'd imagine a launch event is possible. I'll try and find out

The ones that have been delivered are all prepped and parked up ready to go into service at the end of the month

Usually in past instances where new buses have been delivered to another depot for use on rail replacement there has been no public launch event due to them already being in service.

Examples of this are the Metrolink replacement with Speke/ Green Lane's Commanders and the Volvo ALX400 (although the Volvo's did have a private event launch at the old Liverpool Airport) and Bootle's 09' plate Enviro 400s
