Green Lane depot only has two Darts left in service - 2219 which is currently on loan at Wrexham and 2345 which has temporarily been reinstated until this weekend when it will be withdrawn

Good to see it getting about! I've always liked 2345 (my favourite of the batch) and the rest of the V-DJCs - it's a shame to see them withdrawn. It's hard to believe not even a year ago most if not all of this batch were still in service and now we're down to the last five in the North West and Wales fleets

That's a long way to transfer a bus. I'm sure the drivers' regs wouldn't allow a return trip in one day. Does anybody know how the logistics work on fleet movements over such a distance?
Theres a couple of ways how it could be done either 2 drivers take a bus each and meet half way with drivers from the receiving depot taking over with a minibus following to take the drivers back or hire in private drivers to transport them.

Not Arriva, but when the Stagecoach Tridents transferred from Devon to Wigan about 18 months ago, Devon drivers took them all the way to Wigan (one kindly let us know how many were behind him in a thick west Country accent! ) and a minibus was with them presumably to take them back.

Arriva NW my have used outside contractors to move them,
When I was at Runcorn I took drivers to Darlington in a Ford Transit minibus to bring some Dennis Darts back, Also Runcorn staff were used for the transfer of Minibuses from Wales for the North East in exchange for more Dart's a driver from Wales would drop it off we would then take it to Arriva Yorkshire and swoop them over,
Also when the bus came from the Arriva Southern Counties drivers were taken down in Stev Graham's Bristol Coach CRG106
Yes well we effectively got the deckers in exchange so I will take that anytime.
With the new Enviro400s due to enter service at St Helens on Sunday 3062-76, 3147-9 and 3151/3 are now in their final few days of service at Green Lane. It'll be nice to see a bit more variety in the Green Lane fleet for the foreseeable future until the Myllenniums and Renowns are replaced in around a year's time
