The rail replacements start in January so you'll be able to get on one then

I was just hoping they would be out on other services so that it wouldn't be necessary to buy an additional rail ticket to get on one ... unless you can get on one with an Arriva bus pass?

You can get on the rail replacement services as long as you have a valid ticket for the journey
For Rail Replacements i would advise getting a Saveaway Ticket

They're going on the 14 and 18 at Green Lane and the 79/79D at Speke
