Admittedly I only waited for it for 10 minutes today, so maybe it was just very late ... or have schools already finished for the year?

The timetable doesn't actually say whose school holidays it is. Standard dates Warrington and Cheshire West would have schools finishing tomorrow but individual schools can have different dates - St Nicholas High School not using standard Cheshire West dates for Easter once caught GHA out!
New 88 timetable from next week in full: http://www.cheshireeast.gov.uk/pdf/publi...c-2015.pdf

Unfortunately, there's 10 days in February when the railway viaduct at Holmes Chapel will be closed to all rail traffic for engineering works meaning they'll be no trains between Alderley Edge and Crewe. That could affect GHA's loadings on the 27 and 88 route as Chelford station will have no trains, so perhaps more people from Chelford will be heading to Macclesfield, while the lack of southbound services from Wilmslow may mean there's temporarily less interest in the early 88 services.

Yes, good point: it looks like most of the 46's work off and onto schools around Northwich somewhere, but of course most Warringtonians won't know when they're on holiday over there or even think it's relevant to their bus times.

GHA Macclesfield Depot

I understand that GHA will be closing their Macclesfield depot this weekend.

The vehicles (4 x E20D) operating the 88 Connect Knustford to Altrincham service were moved to Tarvin depot a few weeks ago.

All the remaining work and vehicles will, I understand, move to Winsford.

It was pretty obvious from the registration revisions that the 88, Beartown, 38 and the 39 (which is being renumbered 87) were being moved away from Macclesfield.

I did wonder about the rest considering that only left 19, 200, 27, P1 and possibly Sunday 130 out of Macclesfield and the contracts for the 19 and 200 are currently up for renewal so may not remain with GHA. I think 19, 200 and 27 are the only public bus services still operating on a Vale of Llangollen licence.
Can anyone shed a light but when I travelled on the 200 last week the driver was wearing a Manchester Community Transport Uniform, has the service been subcontracted or could it have been a driver wearing an old uniform???

Would it not make better sense running the 88 out of Winsford instead as that's a lot of dead miles from Tarvin. Don't quite understand the logic there.
When's the 130 sun contract due for renewal?

The 130 isn't a contract they operate it commercially, they lost the contract to D&G 2 years ago, but decided to commercialise the service with this reduced timetable

Yep so they cancel it at any time if they want, they just need to give 8 weeks notice to the Traffic Commissioner.
