Passing Ruabon today so had a quick look. Word of warning, best avoid anywhere near the main gates due to on site security with dogs in place and the scrap store yard next to it (thankfully was in car and didn't hang around). However the former Bryn Melyn main yard that ended up been used as a staff car park had the following in store, most is the removed contents from the Shrewsbury depot:

Enviro 300: SN04 EFS, SN04 EFT, SN04 EFU
VDL SB120: AA04 GHA, GA04 GHA
Volvo B10BLE: R217 HCD
Caetano Nimbus bodied Dart: FJ06 URR
Optare Metrocity: YJ15 AWN, YJ15 AWO
MPD: BA52 GHA
Optare Solo: LJI 8023 [ex T475 HBF], V395 KVY
Un ID Merc coach van

Hope of use.

They can not say anything anyway as to the left of the Depot is a full use able public footpath to cross the Railway i've been down there many of times so of course they cant stop you using that if your intending to have a browse.

Indeed and a very good point there, I had my 2 year old son with me so thought best not to hang around, the log is from the main road.
Arriva bus coming in to Knutsford on the 88 route at 08:40 this morning, not following the correct route with only 1 schoolkid on board - usually that bus has a loading of 15-20 when there's a half-hourly service so perhaps some people are unaware the service is up and running or perhaps some people waited at bus stops missed due to the driver not knowing the route properly?
Looks like the 200 and 289 replacement timetables (Howards Travel) are exactly the same. Although, the 289 list of stops is a bit vague with just the town or village listed in a number of instances.

289: http://www.howards-travel.co.uk/289.pdf

Arriva 87 service is a very limited service: https://www.arrivabus.co.uk/globalassets...87-gha.pdf

Arriva 88 service sees the early and late services withdrawn but a full half-hourly service from 1st August: https://www.arrivabus.co.uk/globalassets...88-gha.pdf
Some more news has emerged

Quote:The workers devastated by the closure of Wrexham's GHA Coaches face the task of claiming any money owed to them in unpaid wages, lost holiday pay and redundancy cash.

The 320 staff - except a handful who have been kept on temporarily - were informed on Thursday by administrators from Grant Thornton that they were being made redundant.

The meeting was attended by support staff from ERA Solutions who answered staff questions in relation to the next steps in terms of reclaiming their statutory entitlements.

They will now have to apply to the Insolvency Service.

A spokesman for the administrator Grant Thornton said: "Everyone has been paid wages for the week ended 10 July.

"For the three outstanding days, they should be paid by the Insolvency Service, and have been given claim forms to enable such claims to be made

"The staff will also be making three other claims to the Insolvency Service one, compulsory notice pay, which varies according to length of service, two, redundancy payments, which also vary according to length of service, and three, claims for any accrued holiday entitled not taken up."

The money comes from the government’s National Insurance Fund.

The Government say it's not guaranteed that staff get everything their employer owes them but workers can claim for

It was reported that on the 88 route on Wednesday GHA drivers started taking the buses back to the depot at around 5:00 leaving no services for some people getting home from work. I wonder if they realised they wouldn't be paid for that day.

Quote:Andrew Nicholls was interviewed for the job on Monday, hired on Tuesday and started working for GHA Coaches on Wednesday – before being let go on Thursday.

Mr Nicholls, 34, who was based at the firm’s Shrewsbury depot, claims he was given no indication there were any problems during his interview.

I saw 7 GHA service buses on the A483 between Chester & Wrexham around 2 O'clock this afternoon making their way to Ruabon. I could only identify 2, these being Centros CN57EFD & CA07GHA. The others were a GHA Gold Enviro200, a Cheshire Connect Solo, a new liveried Solo and a couple of Cadets.

Shame that you missed the others Macauley, they must have only been 6 or 7 minutes apart when I saw them. It was quite a sad moment to be honest, knowing that would probably be the last time I'd see a GHA bus again.
I photographed both BVC and Solo YJ60KBF so i literally must of just missed all the others as i was in Johnstown a while, bugger!!
