News May 2016

Recently joined the fleet are R842PRG, R847PRG and V531GDS. They are Volvo B10BLE / Wright Renown - B44F. The first two were new in April 1998 to Sunderland & District (4842/7) and the third was new in November 1999 to Arriva Scotland West (531). All three have come from GO North East. Work has not yet started on preparing them for service and it is believed they are to be made DDA compliant.

As anticipated the Solo YJ06FYA (1381) that had been involved in a double fatal RTC in April 2015 and had recently been released by the Coroner has gone for scrap.

For sale on E-Bay currently are ex Bryn Melyn Mercedes SIW8268 (1004) and S908JCC (1010). The former is likely to revert back to its original registration of P385FEA. The latter has a Marshal body. Also for sale on E-bay is JNZ3825 (4225) DAF / Van Hool T8 Alizee which had been new to Hanmers and was obtained from Staffords In Wrexham.

The ex Ace Solo MX53FDZ (1391) has been given the new GHA (Service Bus) livery but has still not entered service. The Irisbus / Vehixel Scholabus acquired last July with military plate DV81AB has now been given a yellow livery but has still considerable work to be undertaken before it is ready for service. 7052VT (1032) a Mercedes / Autobus Nouvelle 2 which had previously had a white based Vale livery has now been given a silver livery but has yet to be given the fleet vinyls. Currently in the body-shop is DeeBee liveried YJ60KBU (1373) which is understood to be getting the new GHA (Service Bus) livery. Ex Vale Solo YJ60KBN (1371) has had a minor change to its livery in that the Vale logo has been removed. Levante FJ56PBU (4081) is the first vehicle to loose its Reaseheath logo following the end of the company’s involvement with the college contract.

Any word on when the Denbighshire-liveried Enviro200s are arriving? They were mentioned a couple of months back with some route changes in Ruthin/Corwen IIRC
From an article I read on Route-One, it stated the 4 new vehicles destined for the Denbighshire contracts were to be manufactured by Optare. Smile

At least a couple of years. Probably longer.
Is one of the 88 branded Enviros out-of-service long term? There seems to have been a Plaxton Centro operating services on the 88 route for almost a month now.
