The 84 was a hourly service to Chester until been converted to a 30 minute headway around 2003/4 in readiness for the introduction of the Cadets that replaced the Lynxes.

The hourly change started today in line with Routemaster starting a hourly service.
Turns out GHA are going on the 84 as Routemaster Buses are running ahead of GHAs 82 Service between Tarvin and Chester, Fair play there as their just defending their area
Cracking stuff!!!!

Always rated & liked routemaster buses a helluva lot, very smart well maintained/looked after vehicles & very smart presented drivers & really reasonable fares too. Will routemasters chester service run all the way into the bus station as the #84 does?

Deffo looking for a trip on this as they've always used some slightly older buses which is a welcome change.

Just looked at the 82, 84 and C84 timetables and I don't buy that excuse. Routemaster have obviously decided to try and run the C84 around 30 minutes after the 84 and it's just happened to leave Chester Bus Exchange 5 minutes before the 82 (or 10 minutes in the case of some services.) Routemaster aren't running to exactly the same route to Tarvin and they are using a different stop as their main stop in Tarvin.

If GHA have registered the 84 to go all the way to Crewe then it's the equivalent of D&G Bus registering a 88 service between Knutsford and Altrincham because the GHA 88 service departs Knutsford at similar times to their 300 service and serves some of the same roads in Knutsford on the way.

Turns out the once a week services in Cheshire were axed as GHA could not justify purchasing replacement buses for non-DDA compliant vehicles: http://www.middlewichguardian.co.uk/news...ity_rules/
