I don't think V3 will work as well as V1/2. I think there will be a peak time express vantage service soon though
Am told X401 CSG is under repair at Oldham and will then return to Bury and re-enter Service

yeah, its defiantly being repaired at oldham. Surprises me that first want to put it back out in service. I guess it is 'One of a Kind' though!
I did read somewhere (Forgot where) that the damage was not that bad so is worth fixing, I have been told many a time that X401 CSG was the most reliable Bendie as well

It's not timed very well at all. On the Leigh - MRI journeys the service arrives at both universities just before 00 when lectures and seminars usually start

Eh? How do you run an express service on an already limited stop route? Not unless you start putting on boarding and alighting restrictions.
The principal reason for the V3 is to link the western side of Greater Manchester to the hospitals, in particular the Children's Hospital which was served by the likes of the 26 and 35 to 39 when it was sited at Pendlebury. It was a requirement of the award of the busway QBC, hence why all this money has been spent on doing up the Oxford Road corridor... although it was originally anticipated that the whole service would run cross-city, rather than the set-up that we have here.
Looks like First have introduced some Part Route 42s ahead of the complete route split on Monday. The Middleton-Manchester route being ran by Queens Road with at least one B9 running it this morning
Bury only operate one School service, the 791 from Victoria Avenue/Rochdale Road to Parrenthorn High School. Runs empty back to Depot from the school AM, runs Dead to Piccadilly to take up a 135 PM. So I guess this will pass to QS.
John
Unless something has changed recently John I'm sure Bury Depot operate more than one School Service as I've seen vehicles leaving the depot in the afternoon to go on various School Services with the odd ones fully blinded, I know the do at least one from a School somewhere that terminates in Breightmet as I've seen Citaroes on this one in the past.
