Well today there was a 58/59 branded B9TL, a 2012 B9TL on the 409... Fun times - sh*t happens because drivers swap vehicles over at night, because they don't like single deckers, or they don't like enviro's so.. they'll get a B9 out... and then the order is messed up for the allocaters the next day

They've taken a lot of relatively new Volvo B9TLs and many Citaros and Scanias of age have been replaced by B7RLEs. I doubt Bury will get any Enviros before the next few years if ever. The non low floor deckers have this year before they will have to leave so I wouldn't see much more of those after this September. The Solar Fusion is an excellent vehicle and surpasses the performance of the OmniCitys in my opinion, which I am lead to believe are staying on the 135 or maybe straying onto the 471s.
What is it that you are losing your patience over? You have a fairly decent fleet with a fair age profile. Those B9TLs are in excellent condition to be honest, and the B7RLEs are more than capable. The Scanias could do with a bit of TLC but they're still alright.
I don't see an issue with old vehicles, the B9TL's ('08 plates) are the best buses First have... Much better than enviros... and Citaros are great buses when they work, i hate to say it but getting rid of the old olympians etc would be a good idea.. though I like old buses they're not the best for prams or wheelchairs...
I'm currently sat on an Oldham Depot Enviro400 with a bit of a turbo squeal and an absolutely terrible gearbox, coming out of first gear it jerks at least twice trying to catch second.
I thought we'd see changes in maintenance, clearly not.
For those who haven't seen the Arriva Bolton thread, there was a crash this morning in Salford involving one of the new Arriva hybrid double deckers and First 60372, which was probably on the 110. Looks like First came off the worst.

I am losing my patience because the mercedes citaros always breakdown also their slow and they rattle and sometimes stink the bells don't work and the display where it says stopping are covered in advertisements it leaks a lot . I don't like the B9TL'S because the enviros look better and are cleaner . The scanias sometimes rattle and are slow and can get quickly crowded with people from Holly Cross College . The Wright SolarFusion seats feel very worn out it's roof leaks a lot it rattles . The old double deckers ( olympians ) are vandalized with X-rated drawings , sometimes they leak , they rattle , they are slow, they stink , what if you were disabled and a bus turned up and it was not low-floor ? , And with X-rated drawing on the olympians and leaky windows and a slow engine this should have gone to the scrapyard a decade ago .

Bury probably have one of the best FirstGroup fleets, with no (or few) Darts.
The Citaros look good for their age, it is a shame that such horrible seats got fitted. Some have moved to Oldham, but they don't have the new livery which suggests they are on the way out.
The B9's are comfy and modern, as are the B7's and the Scanias are alright.
The Olympians are on their way out due to some age regulation for school contracts or something along those lines, maybe they wil be replaced by cascaded Tridents/ALX400's ?
I don't think Bury have a lot of Solo's.

Wow that vehicle is knackered. I reckon Arriva will be losing the most sleep, as their bus was/is a lot newer than First's old Dart.
VAVXR, you just sound like you're complaining about everything to do with the operation of any fleet to be honest.
The fact that the Citaros aren't painted yet doesn't suggest that they are on their way out yet at all, the B7RLE fleet isn't even fully painted yet which is why painters haven moved to older stock yet, they're next in line I imagine. And the Citaros aren't even half as unreliable as they're being made out to be...
P528 LND i agree with you, yeah i do complain but im not a moody person, im just curious why manchester has lots of more newer busses and Bury dosent . By the way the comments about the citaros arnt mine i got them from the letters page of the Bury Times . Anyway Im not complaining im telling you about the experience i had, im telling you about what i saw and heard . I complain awfully too much but im just like you at the end of the day, reporting to you about my day to day experience of the travelling I do on FirstGreaterManchesters busses . Thank you and good night
some b9s arnt even painted yet especially at queens and bury depot... Citaros are great buses :-) weird drivers door but electirc sriver window is luxury for us drivers hehe
