Quote:Can I ask where do you source this information? It's just that you could be making it all up off the top of your head, and since most of what you are saying is in defense of First which I must say is very rare for any individual...

Answer I work part time for first pioneer my uncle is the dm. I help him out part time because of my family. If you read my posts properly I'm sure you would work that out plus I have said this months ago
James, in all honesty, should you be saying half of this stuff as it could be seen as commercially sensitive? After all, you have just told the competition of potential future plans!

I would have thought it was the other way round. A choice of a draughty old arrow or cramped Solo or nice modern Enviro200's from Stagecoach, not to mention the fact the First 346's always seem to be late compared to Stagecoach!
answer is most of the survey was old fogies/ppl on their own (lol) they prefer the m950 to stagecoach as they as a "nicer ride" and the first buses dont stop and wait time at newton and duki as stagecoach have too much running time. first often over take stagecoach half way along the route if not before. the most used comment was get more of the new buses like the b9s and new solos and get rid of the last few darts. wich the dm is trying to do

Fair enough. I always use the Stagecoach 346's myself and to be honest they carry a good load. From the fare paying passengers point of view the 346 has always looked like a poor relation compared to the 348/350. The 348/350 has recently recieved modern clean buses, there is [or certainly was] cheaper day/week tickets on the 348/350 and they are also more frequent.
If it was me, i would be quite aggreaved at paying a higer fare for travelling on older vechicles.
I think the one thing that could swing it for First is the fact they run the Sunday/bank holiday contracted journeys, so someone travelling 7 days a week would have to buy a First weekly rather than a megarider.
Are there any B10BLEs left at Queens Road now? :P

Regarding the changes to the 8, 12, 25, 26 and 36, it seems that, looking on the Traveline website, they will stop at a new stop on Rossall Way (top of Salford Shopping Centre). This means that buses won't be going up and down Hankinson Way but making a short loop into the shopping area. Also seems that the re-routing will also apply to the Night Bus services 8 and 36 plus the 39, which is also being re-routed in.
I have seen the 24 being operated by an Olympian twice this week. Both on Oldham Road, one this morning and the other on Tuesday morning. This is unacceptable especially considering the 24 is an hourly service and it is not easy to catch the next one.

The 24 has always had a variety of buses operated but surely Oldham has some low floor buses for it, particularly when they are scrapping low floor darts...

Just read the changes listed above, Good to see the 83 service being increased as it always looks packed.
