What a total shambles from first leaving pretty much everywhere on the other side of Oldham without any Manchester buses or through services. it only going to get worst with decline in bus usaging

Remember First want to sell Oldham but didn’t get any sensible offers so they are trying to make it more profitable by getting rid of the less profitable routes before possibly putting Oldham up for sale again I personality assume First will wait until the Vantage contract ends before giving up on Oldham

Back in late Jan, First had a buyer for Oldham (believe terms were agreed), First were pushing to complete all 3 sales so they could be announced at the same time/close together. For unknown reasons, the deal to buy Oldham collapsed & didn't complete, plus Rotala's deal to buy Bolton was also delayed thus only the Go Ahead deal could be announced during Feb.

That’s interesting as I didn’t think a deal was reached for Oldham although I’m
not surprised First wanted to sell all 3 depots at the same time, I assume Transdev would be a likely candidate for Oldham if they weren’t the original buyer for Oldham.

It wasn't common knowledge, only amongst those involved with the bidding process at the time.
Transdev were not the original intended buyer of Oldham
I just realised why the 184 is staying between Huddersfield and Oldham is when a sale does happen for Oldham Depot the route would not be included in the sale and the route would transfer over to First West Yorkshire team which would make a intrested buyer, more intrested in buying the depot and routes with out the 2 hour buderen of the 184 has it is now and makes easier for the west yorkshire to take over once First Manchester Collapases.

Its because of appalling congestion around Oldham mumps and lees road and in Manchester that makes splitting the routes a good idea. Hopefully it'll lead to more journeys running on time

Splitting the service is one thing, but the reductions in service will cause problems for many people, particularly on the far side of Oldham. First lost the plot in Oldham some time ago with old decrepit busses and poor timekeeping, What is happening now is scarcely managed decline.
Timetables for the 82/83 are now on TfGM website. The other changes to First services in Oldham can be seen on the MyTFGM Journey Planner.
Looking at the timetables (links in the service numbers):
80
- Buses will depart 5 minutes later from Oldham and 6 minutes earlier from Holts compared to existing 81A service.
- Service will run a loop around Holts Estate, meaning faster journeys to Oldham.
- Service finishes around an hour earlier from Oldham at 1843, while last weekday journey from Holts is later at 1840.
81
- Half-hourly service
- Running at same times as 81A from Manchester to Oldham, while buses from Oldham will depart at 21 and 51.
- Journeys that start from Moston are extended to start from Oldham.
- Last buses: From Oldham at 1751 and from Manchester at 1852 (1847 Saturdays)
- Sunday service runs 10 minutes earlier from Oldham. Unchanged departure times from Manchester.
82/83
- Earlier start from Sholver on service 82 compared to existing 83 service.
- Buses from Manchester will start running to Sholver from 1742 onwards.
- Buses from Sholver will continue to Manchester from 1857 onwards.
- Last two Monday-Saturday journeys from Manchester will terminate at Oldham bus station instead of Mumps.
84
- Broadly a similar timetable between Grotton and Manchester compared to existing 180/184 timetable
- Service to/from Uppermill will be every 30 minutes at same times to 184 journeys that start/terminate at Uppermill.
- The 2250 Monday-Saturday journey from Manchester will extend from Grotton to Uppermill.
- All existing 180 journeys from 7.30pm on Mondays-Saturdays will run to/from Uppermill instead of Greenfield.
- Sunday service remains same as existing 180/184 Sunday service, except that all existing 180 journeys will start/terminate at Grotton.
- Sunday journeys to/from Huddersfield run as 84 not as 184.
180 / 184
- 184 will run at similar times to existing journeys between Oldham and Huddersfield, although most journeys from Oldham will run 3 minutes earlier between Oldham and Uppermill.
- 180 will run 10 minutes before the 184 from Oldham and 10 minutes after the 184 to Oldham.
- Last 180 departure from Oldham is 1909 weekdays and 1856 Saturdays, while from Greenfield is 1942 weekdays and 1932 Saturdays.
- Likely that the 180/184 will interwork at Oldham bus station (i.e. arrives as 180, leaves as 184 and vice-versa).
- No Sunday services on 180 or 184 (Huddersfield journeys on Sundays run as service 84 to/from Manchester).
84/180/184

425
- 425 to run every 10 minutes from 9.05am until 1.45pm weekdays and from 8.45am until 4.55pm Saturdays with less frequent service outside those hours.
- Last departure on a Saturday will be after the Stagecoach service starts.
- Sunday service at same times between Oldham and Holts
