(13/10/2012 22:46)Mayneway Wrote: [ -> ]I think First have lost the plot at Dukinfield. Over the last couple of days B9s have appeared not only on 348's/350's but on the small circulars such as the 331,389 and tonight the 338 Ashton/crowhill circular which runs right past my house.

Now normally after 7pm the 338 normally carries no more than a couple of passengers per trip, infact the last two trips tonight have passed my house completely empty, so why on earth use a huge double decker bus?? Over the last few months most of Firsts evening services out of Ashton used Solo's, and did perfectly well with them, so why switch to large d/d vehicles which probably use twice as much fuel as a Solo.

On another note, I counted 1 diesel Solo on the 41 this morning and 1 on the 419, what a waste of money these 'green' buses are when they spend half their time off the road. Another complete waste of tax payers money.

the B9s will be route branded soon all they need on 331s are the 54 solos i think

this wasnt an allocators fault the driver / duty that does evening 331/2/8 comes off a 346/389 duty in the afternoon and the driver it seems couldnt be bothered to change his bus as he was happy with that bus
on a offical note the 346/393 buses should consist of 2 r---sba darts
and the 7 for 346/389/331+3 should be 4 54 plate solos and 3 darts but at the minute with 312 away at qs 2 darts having problems and solos due for mots around now these 7 are currently a mixed bag of everything officially evening circulars should be one of the 54 plate buses but on friday it was a decker allocated to this duty for daytime board only.
but this was a drivers decision to keep it as a decker for the night NOT an allocator

have you seen 37295 yet it should be at Dukinfield now
82/83s seem to be having reliability issues with the traffic at the Manchester St roundabout. Two Sundays in a row while waiting for a bus at Hollinwood, there's been a gap of 25-30 minutes on a 10 minute frequency service.

Also looks like the Sunday daytime interworking between the 59 and 180/184 at Manchester has ended (presumably since the Enviros started on the 180/184), as I caught a 184 to Failsworth then around an hour later caught the same bus with the same driver in Failsworth on the 180 from Manchester. Thankfully, from a drivers point of view, the long 25 minute waits in Manchester will end in a fortnight when the 180/184 increases to every 15 mins Sunday daytime between Mumps and Manchester.

One other thing I noticed today is that some drivers on the 149 is still displaying Holts as its destination, although I'm sure that there is a destination for Alt programmed, which I think displays as 'Oldham and Alt' or 'Oldham and Alt Estate' wth 'and Alt' displayed on the second line.

Buses still have a lot of the old programming of routes, for example 66853 still wears the old scrolling via points on most routes, another B9TL does too. All destinations have been reformatted but it's just a case of getting to the buses and realising they need changing.

A few buses still hold Holts Estate destinations as we've seen when really it shouldn't anymore.

Here is examples of what was and what should be/is. Smile

All expected for Bolton

I saw 61137 still in Bury on saturday evening. I' will probably visit them in Bolton when they're there. Are there any Dennis Arrows still in service in Bolton, I hope to try to get on one tomorrow.

Just a reminder also to FM's to remove sections of quotes that aren't relevant to their post where possible; large blocks of quoted text make the forum more difficult to read. Large images should also be removed from quotes unless required for ease of reading, thanks.
