It's been like that forever I think, I'm guessing that it's an old destination display or something that's been covered up. If you look at the back of all of the other Pyoneer Arrows, they have a small black 'box' underneath the lower back window, which is a destination display. 31926 doesn't have that, and instead has a big black 'box' above the lower rear window, hence why I assume it's some form of destination display.

No we did a turn around 14:00 off Wigan, and did the round trip without getting off. It was a little unpleasant on the top deck of 31928 i can tell you...I must have lost 1/2lb during that hour
.
We also saw 37313 was o a #658 which we haven't seen before. 37312 was on a #600.

Most or all of these Arrows probably used to have number blinds when they were in service at First Hampshire/somerset-Avon before they cascaded up First Manchester.

They did, however First have covered them over now. 31918 is the the only exception to First covering up the rear displays, as the rear display on this one can still be seen, and it displays a large First logo all of the time.
37298 was also seen in Bolton in new livery on a 471 on Friday but with Greater Manchester branding
Think one of the new Enviros parked up at Bolton is 33668. They've moved a couple down to the bottom gates and around the side. Could only spot around 4 so some have either moved inside or onto OM.
