Also interesting to see Howards winning a Warrington public bus contract, after all the owners posts about the council making it impossible for anyone other than WOB to win work. I wonder if that's down to Howards offering to run it for a lower subsidy, or whether WOB want to avoid increasing their PVR?

Yes, though Warrington's Own Buses might not see it in quite the same way and might want to use the revised 47 as a reason to get rid of their Cat6 in time, as the Cat6 has already been cut so much as to be of little use to most potential passengers now, and it runs at almost the same times as the 47 on a lot of trips.
I hope that doesn't happen though and that there is no further reduction in service.

Worth noting that the 62/62A finishing too will mean a drop in PVR for Warrington.
Details and timetables for new route 24 as well as other increases in service available here:
https://www.warringtonsownbuses.co.uk/ex...th-october

There is a glaring error in the date given: these services won't start from "Monday 25th October" because that doesn't exist, and I believe it should say "Monday 25th September" ... which is next week!

The website seems to massage the date of the news story too, saying that this story was published 3 days ago, when this is not the case.
Timetable for the 24 finally available on websites such as Traveline and Bustimes:
https://bustimes.org/services/24-birchwo...-birchwood

It's good to be able to see the full route taken on the map.

The 24 seems to have a lot of time off between runs (half an hour off, half an hour on, etc.)
It also runs at similar times to the 28, arriving at Birchwood Station at XX:45 ...

Timetables for the other new routes starting in Warrington from Monday still don't seem to be available on Traveline and Bustimes etc. yet though (routes 10, B29, 31, 31A, 33, new 47).

Pity Warrington Council just link to the WOB, Arriva, Go North West and National Express websites, especially when they've contracted the 10 and 47 so it's in their interests to promote the routes. They don't even mention the existing Lymm Shopper anywhere. They could at least put up a pdf of the timetable with the operator name and phone number.

Come on, National Express haven't served Warrington in a while now either, since they taken the 550 off during COVID. There's now both Flixbus and Megabus doing services but no links to them either. WBC aren't the best...
Last night was the last day of Warrington's running the H20 and I was the proud last passenger on it, Howard's to have it this week then Arriva from October 1st, the 62 is now being served by Ashcrofts Travel
Cheshire East Council's response to the 47 no longer running Lymm to Knutsford is affected passengers can use Flexilink, but also saying Flexilink can't run outside Cheshire East.

So basically if you want to do High Legh to Lymm, they'll only take you as far as Broomedge, and on a pre-booked basis.

That is ridiculous, & those wonder why people would drive a car when stuff like this happens
Yet more service enhancements coming to Warrington from 16th October 2023!
https://www.warringtonsownbuses.co.uk/ne...722b2109a7

This even includes a surprise evening services on the 11 and 12 ... who would have seen that coming!
It's great to have an evening service on 4, 28A and 17 (Eastbound), as well as the 3 being extended to Hollins Green to connect with Go North West service 100 to Manchester.
Looking at the new timetable for 3 it does seem that rather than connect with 100 the first couple of journeys (18:50 & 19:50 from Warrington) are to run 2 minutes in-front of Go Northwest's 100 service all the way to Hollins Green unless Go Northwest are planning on withdrawing 18:52 & 19:52 100 services from Warrington which I haven't heard anything about yet.
