This even includes a surprise evening services on the 11 and 12 ... who would have seen that coming!
It's great to have an evening service on 4, 28A and 17 (Eastbound), as well as the 3 being extended to Hollins Green to connect with Go North West service 100 to Manchester.
The enhancements are due to Warrington Council being successful in their bid for 'bus back' funding from the government. It's quite ironic that Cheshire East didn't put as much thought into their bid and didn't get anything from it, and the borough has actually seen a cutback as a result of the Warrington enhancement leaving a couple of villages with no scheduled bus service at all. While Cheshire East could use the £10,000 they were providing for the 47 elsewhere it would probably end up with an even less useful service if they tried to draw up an ITT with a budget of £10,000.
I caught the X5 from Altrincham to the airport for the first time this week. The MMC being used seemed to be a good size vehicle to use - enough space but not too big for the usual loadings. I also observed short journeys being made which didn't start or end in Altrincham. With Little Gem's Fiats sometimes being overloaded from Altrincham and then running to Hale Barns with "BUS FULL" on the destination display, it likely harmed patronage.
Anyone know how long this "bus back" funding will last?
These new services and improvements are great to have, though I guess they won't last forever!

Their press release just gives a figure of how much the funding is.

I'm not sure exactly what the funding has to be spent on, but I wish some of the existing routes could have their frequency increased.
It's crazy that routes like the 3 and 25 are still only hourly during the day.

I was looking at some house options near Warrington a few months back and was surprised that one option I looked at was near the 15 bus route and that the service was just hourly and ending at around 6pm.

It's worth knowing that the 14 is the same as the 15, just it runs backwards.
Depending on where exactly, it might also be walkable to the 13 or 32/7/110.
So there will be an evening service.
However, at night, the 14, 13 and 32 all arrive into Warrington at similarish times to each other, meaning that although there are 3 buses per hour, the service is effectively pretty much hourly across those Warringtons Own Buses routes.
240 involved in an RTA while working the 32 today.
Another Enviro had to be towed away right near the Interchange (220?)
Damaged couldn't have been that bad to both vehicles as both are being shown as tracking this morning.

Assuming we can trust Bustimes that is!
