As far as I'm concerned there's very little reason to catch Warrington's 32 though, unless you have money to burn - lower frequencies sometimes, more restricted journey lengths, higher prices. You can actually get to Liverpool and back (or Southport or ...) on Arriva for less than it costs for a return from Penketh to Warrington.

Some interesting thoughts. I know a couple of drivers at Arriva in Runcorn and they talk about the state of the fleet at Runcorn. One in particular told me if he was a paying passenger he would pay to travel on Warringtons Own Buses as the Hybrids used on the 32 are newer, have a nicer interior and don’t shake and bang like Runcorns fleet. Having been on a couple of Runcorns Cadets, I tend to agree that they are past their best.
A return from Widnes to Warrington will just be the day ticket, which is £4.50 - that will also take you to Runcorn, Liverpool, Southport and anywhere in between for no extra cost Smile
I believe you can now even use Walrus cards in Warrington on Arriva.

I definitely agree about the state of the buses of the two companies, though I think Arriva has improved in that regard over recent years, with using gas buses and pulsars sometimes on the 110 and pulsars/Enviro400s on the 7.

Say you only wanted to travel from Widnes to Warrington for work and didn’t need to buy an Arriva Day Ticket? WOB’s is a cheaper fare, albeit only 10p, on a newer more modern vehicle. I’d call that good value LOL
Does anyone know the status of VDL 186 please?
CX65BUH did at least one trip on a 28 yesterday. It was running late and a Cadet was out of service in front of it so don't know if the Cadet had a fault and it was the replacement vehicle.

Thanks again Les Smile
Cadet 35 has finally been withdrawn having made various comebacks over the years and more recently was used as the training bus. It’s now going to be used for parts, was a genuinely nice bus to drive.
