In regards to the N1, seems strange it says 1/N1 rather than just 1 on its own.. here's hoping!
So, as these services look to be all-Stagecoach, I doubt we shall be able to use Arriva Daysavers on these routes anymore. Just as well I rode it in May then!

Maybe Stagecoach could take over the X1 Liverpool-Halton Lea from Arriva and interwork it with route 36?

This will be new territory for Stagecoach, who have not traditionally had any operations in north Wales.

Maybe Stagecoach can extend route X50 (Manchester - Trafford Centre express) to Halton Lea via Warrington and Widnes. This would provide some excellent new links to Trafford Centre and this new territory for Stagecoach that you suggest!

Howards Travel tried this and it didn't go so well!

Left overs are normally sat at the back of the depot or under the cover. There is normally about 4 buses on pits from what I have seem. Unless I just see it on a busy day.
I know places have a lot of different registrations but timetables are made via scripts from what I have seen. You click a button and bus stop timetables and standard timetables are made. Most of chesters changes are small but CWACC are too lazy to make individual timetables like TFGM and Merseytravel. I know they arent a transport organisation thing but still. They make the timetables for stuff like Dee Bee but dont for SC and just wait for SC to bring their timetables out. Secondly, the timetables were made to send of the the authorities so the times are there. Just format it into the timetable. It surely cant take that long if you have the template. Just copy the times over.
Stuff like SP1/2 I mean increase with the funding still there and the 36 is fully commercial so that should be increased. SP1/SP2 always was half hourly so increasing it back to that will be the same as GHA operated it with funding therefore nothing really changes other than it puts it back to normal.
Chester is tiny. They need to move to Bumpers Lane and get a purpose built depot down there. The current location should be student accommodation. Depot is tiny and buses are already left outside blocking Victoria Road at night so a bigger depot is a must. Chester could really do with taking on the X2 half hourly and maybe looking at something like the DB2. Arriva are tough competitors but look at Blacons and Liverpools, Arriva are loosing the battle by dropping 2 and blacons they arent doing well as everyone has Stagecoach cards and day tickets because they are cheaper and can be used further afield. Arriva I dont think make that much around Blacon as SC have the additional bus and now Sundays SC have a bus running so Arriva isnt doing great to be fair.
Increading frequency on SP1/2 only needs 2 buses. It isnt that much in the grand scheme of things. Especially if they come off S1 and head straight to Mold for later evening services. GHA had a few sunday services in Wrexham and as SC are trying to get a foot in down there, they could do those with spare sunday buses.
I very much doubt that buses are left out side of a night, on serval occasions where I have been in chester at night I haven't seen buses left on Victoria road, granted in some evenings there is one normally parked up in the layby , while they are shunted into position ready for the next day, regarding the X2 I contacted Gilmoss regarding arriva's share of the route and would they be covering that only to be told they couldn't don't know why but that's the response

Runcorn is more naturally attached to Liverpool rather than Manchester due to dispersal of people from South Liverpool in the 1960s and 1970s.
The thing is Stagecoach ever move into Runcorn in a major way it wont be from there Chester depot.

I have been down there. Gates shut and normally Eclipse are out. I havent been there since the Solos came in as that would save buses compared to larger Enviro200 or darts. I think Chester depot needs to move and be bigger. Chester area has a lot of bus passengers and especially on Service 1. It needs like a 10 min service in the evening as it is ram packed on service 1. Cheshire Oaks light switch on is blooming busy too but no one runs additional buses to help crowding. When I went one time I stood around for 1 hour as buses were too packed. Then got on a bus and people were not far off sat on each other. I admit this is back when First operated but I highly doubt much has changed. I think Blacons on early finishes should be sent to do shuttles non stop between COaks and Chester. And as I said when Zoo closes, that needs more buses with more buggy space. Chester is such a good place for buses but such a small depot. Rock Ferry has less routes but bigger depot...
The thing I really do not understand with the service 1 is why the route has to service both tourist destinations that does put it on course at certain times of the day to lose significant chunks of time to congestion.
Unfortunately you have weigh up Liverpool - Cheshire Oaks end of the route when your looking at increasing frequency on the route and if it had needed it , it would have been done .
Special events will always bring people in and not always possible to obtain the buses for this , in the bus industry there isn't the spare vehicles and drivers .
I agree Chester is like a big man trying to fit in skinny jeans , Rock Ferry when all its buses are in is quite tight but nowhere near like Chester.
