The X8 isn't receiving deckers.
If anything at all, 5 golds from current service 2 would move over to the service.
Wasn't there talk of the routes of 1 and 2 being changed? (With one bus serving the Zoo and Bache and one bus serving Cheshire Oaks) Perhaps one of these amended routes could be double decker operated?
or perhaps nothing at all will come of this and everything will return to normal once again.
If anything the 1 & 2 should move to deckers they can be standing room only.

Apparently, one of those routes uses a low bridge so can't use deckers.
Service 1 goes under the low bridge at Bach station but it is not hard to convert this route to double decker operation and it is not brain surgery either
Stagecoach could reconfigure local services in Chester to serve the area that would miss out if Service 1 was operated by double deckers and the double deckers could operate by the diversionary route that is in place at the moment
Or the X8 if not converted to double deck operation they could re-route the X8 via the present Service 1 route and Service 1 could operate via the present X8 route from the Zoo into the City Centre
Or simply Cheshire West & Chester could simply re-route subsidised services in the area to serve the area that Service 1 now serves to compensate for the loss of a local service

The possibilities are endless, but ultimately it will be decided on which services need deckers and whether a conversion to decker operation is financially justified. On another thread, it has been suggested that GM's 20/21 services that currently experience overcrowding (even with a 5- minute frequency) is a more likely candidate for deckers. Time will tell, but I'm sure that a business plan (and route allocation) for these 33 new deckers was put forward to senior management before the order was approved.
The new deckers are only for the 82/86 im sure its been mentioned before so dont know people are getting excited about Chester keeping them
17491 was on the 472 today.

There is a well known route for deckers avoiding the bridge at Bache Station, going further up Liverpool Road, Upton Lane & Church Lane to Heath Road which the old Merseybus 11C/12C took.
This is also a route which could be used via Wealstone Lane
But I would have thought that at some point Cheshire West and Chester would be consulted as they are meant to be part of the Quality Partnership
Also the current 2 service serves the Countess of Chester so I would have though that if the 1 is diverted it would serve the Countess of Chester to compensate for the loss of the 2 but at this point anything is pure speculation as no one outside of the Stagecoach route planners know what if the changes to the routes are going to be or even if there are going to be no changes at all
