Was Upton Lane introduced as a health safety reason to prevent an accidental deroofing at Bache Station , because if it was a precursor to double deckers they are taking a long time introducing them.
I think re-routing the 1 was so they could increase capacity, The Scania's that have been received from Northampton are said to be in a poor state so they will need to go through refurb first, having said that somewhere I did read on had found its way on to the 38 a week or so ago.

Yep, the road that goes under Bache station has a low bridge, MTL later Arriva used a well known diversion route the current 1 route, avoiding the low bridge when they operated the 11/11C/12/12C as deckers were always allocated to those routes, the 1 is quite often standing room only & definitely needs upgrading to deckers but the old route in Bache meant deckers couldn't be used because of the low bridge.
Just reroute the 1 back via Moston lights, easy. One of the old Crosville routes (C2 I think) went via Upton Lane so it’s a historical route.
Chester based 17455 Y526 NHK Open Top Trident has been sold, does anyone know the reason for its departure... could it be for a newer vehicle or are the sightseeing tours coming to a permeant end

I would assume it's because the PVR for City Sightseeing is 2 buses. Even with 3 open toppers there's still a spare bus

17455 never returned to us this year. I think the main reason with it being sold was because it needed a lot of work. It kept overheating when we had it and needed a new gearbox so it was somewhat a blessing when it didn't return, however with only 3 buses and top brass deciding to reduce the tours to every 30 minutes during peak times we did miss that 3rd bus on the road on every 20 minute intervals. With the company deciding to run 30 minutes throughout the year, the need for a 4th bus was inadequate. This i have been promised will be increased for next season as we have struggled this year especially with the demand to keep to time.
19570 unusually on the 2 today, probably less unusual is 27897 on the 38.
