Did Stagecoach Chester suffer any problems on their X8 service due to the closure of the M53 for most of yesterday and also have they got any contingency plans diversion wise for X8 should M53 be shut for any reason and if so what diversion route/s would they take
From what I saw of New Chester Road last night it was a lot heavier than usual , the excessive amount of traffic lights causing endless queue's , there is 13 sets of lights for an X8 travelling directly , 14 if they have to go through Bromborough between the Birkenhead Tunnel and Hooton M53 Roundabout , so anything out of the ordinary could cause tailbacks.

It didnt effect the X8 at all and as for a contingency plan, id say the X2 route to the Strawberry roundabout then to Cheshire Oaks, then do a number 1 to Hooton but obviously not stopping.
Not sure if its an odd working but one of Chester's Enviro 200s was out today on X22s while one of the usual branded Plaxton SLFs was sat in the Depot
34742 it is thats off the road, it has been experiencing problems with the gearbox overheating. Every now and again a 62 plate Enviro200 will be on X22. Either 36071 or 36072 runs the first one every morning.
Volvo B7RLE's 21248 & 21249 both on the 41/42 this afternoon.
