Anyone who says move the 471/472 from Rock Ferry to Gillmoss , you have to be on another planet firstly there is no evening work on this route whatsoever and then in the daytime its about 50% work up on route and back on the other.
The 471/2 work is not going to be given by Arriva , the only way they would give up this work is if they went bust .
I agree. What's happening with the new vehicles in Rock Ferry ,when and where are they entering service?

There is a possibility the 5 MMC's at RF may go to Chester in exchange for normal Enviros but we will have to wait and see..its all in the air at present
Nobody in Birkenhead depot seems to know who the new buses are actually for, they just turned up!

How many other cities have there terminal motorways a lot closer to the city ?
Only because it was never completed. It was meant to finish at the unbuilt Inner Ring Road.

What i put above your comment is latest i heard but like i said its all up in the air...like the 6 in the port one minute its coming then it is ... lets just wait and see
Overheard a discussion on a 36 to Runcorn the other day & it seems that Stagecoach are quite keen to keep hold of that route. Longer term, I suppose it could be inter-worked with the X2, or if more of the erstwhile GHA services are kept on by Stagecoach, they may look for a suitable site in the Ellesmere Port area for an outstation?
Certainly, there's a fair bit of industrial land that could possibly be used for such a purpose, which would cut down on dead mileage & ease the ever increasing congestion at both Rock Ferry & Chester depots.
Also noted is that Stagecoach didn't seem keen on taking on route 7 in Ellesmere Port & that is now being operated by Helms of Eastham.
We do seem to be getting to a point where some investment will be needed in garage facilities soon. Liverpool Road in Chester was never intended to be used as a main depot and the potential for any further expansion is (in my opinion) being hampered by the lack of space at teh southern end of the Stagecoach area.

In that case, RF can operate Saturday no 2 in the morning. When the 6 starts have a early 2 start at Rock Ferry and run itto the port. That will save on dead millage.
