Loadings on stagecoachs 6 are awful, just a few regulars with weekly tickets and the odd pensioner, gha take the majority with their 6 running every 20 minutes. The X8 calling at Ellesmere Port traim station is to take some money off GHA as they are the only operator to serve that end of the Port. Stagecoach are worming their way in to the port though.
There has always been a market for passengers from Ellesmere Port to Cheshire Oaks , its a section of the X8 that will see a few passengers , some segments of the X8 will be profitable.
No notices have appeared on buses about the re- routing of the 41/42 through the croft
unless there as been something on facebook which i am not on.
some people who use the Mill Rd / Magazine Rd stop have complained to sc about using Port
causeway instead of continuing out of the croft on to it's normal route which makes more sence
as anyone wanting a bus off the main drag Rock Ferry old chester Rd etc has no bus
There is a downloadable PDF brochure promoting the new x8 on stagecoaches website

Stagecoach must have looked at this before deciding on the route of the bus , they have probably looked at timings and thought this is the route that needs to be done in the time made available , there is the possibility of traffic delays snagging the timetable if the service had to come back to Croft Avenue to get out of the retail park.

41/42 are slow running routes, coming out at croft avenue again makes little difference to the
timings

They have to look at all eventualities people have said they want the 41 and 42 to operate via Croft Retail Park , there are only following what Avon thought was a good enough route for them which was to cut through the retail park and out of the back instead of backtracking to what at times can be a heavily congested Croft Avenue / New Chester Road Junction , the 38 loops out of the Retail park the very same way as well , probably for the very same reason.
The point is the loadings are more from the 2 stops missed than going round the back via
the causeway with few pickups,in the future i can see it reverting to its original route when
they realize it is a mistake
Cant see the MAN Enviro300s being used on X8s on its first day or maybe a few days after that. Looks like it could be Volvo B7 Eclipses running it.

If they go back to operating via New Chester Road they will probably not be going into the Retail Park.
