Definitely not what I was expecting from Ace but I think it's great that they're showing some ambition and trying something new.
Having had a better look at the 36 Timetable i have noticed the Driver gets 47 Min Layover after every round trip, am now thinking the Service would have to really pick up to pay a Driver to do nothing for so long, maybe they should of extended it somewhere else like Huyton or Halewood, this would mean the Driver is not doing nothing for so long and theres the chance for extra income for the service
EDIT: The 38 gets no layover at all, very risky business

Then again, they won't have to pay Merseytravel any service charges for using their bus stations.
Looks like ACE gets the last laugh
Yet will lose out on more passengers due to the odd stopping point in town so ultimately they are losing out.

I agree, Passengers want something thats simple and convenient for them, i cant see many people walking up to Lime Street or Brownlow hill just to get this service
Seems like Merseytravel are going to be obliterating a lot of contract work this April , if its not at least slightly commercial viable it don't stay.

Which is a scandal as that is the whole point of subsudised services - ie services which aren't deemed commercially viable in the first place.
The problem doesn't stem at Merseytravel's door but at the money they receive from central Government which looks like its getting less and less year on year. One major problem down the line will be the pool of bus companies will soon get smaller and smaller as County Council , TfGM and Merseytravel contracts dry up.
