To add, this is my perspective as at April 2005.
Very good piece about the 102, think the only part which I may be able to add is that at one point (may have been after JC Minis had operated it) Arena Coaches ran the evening & Sunday service using ex-West Midlands Fleetlines (think may have been the same time as Halton were running the daytime service). Again my own memory on this is sketchy.

I knew I forgot one operator. And yes I remember the very striped Arena livery on a Sunday service when I was off to do my paper round around 1989! Thanks
This is a thread for timetable changes , not the route history , of which there is already a thread for that elsewhere on the forum.

We did stray a little bit, apologies but the discussion about the 102 started when the link to the new timetable appeared and this made us all realise how much of a chequered history the route has had.
No better place to put this I think...

Quick heads up that ALL Arriva services on Merseyside have stopped for the evening, that includes St Helens depot.
What happen's to the 272 after the 16th of Feb?
Its withdrawn, Its partly replaced by Avons 22/24 which are rerouted

So it seems that the route may have been given to Arriva as an emergency , it did seem odd that Arriva had won a daytime Merseytravel contract in the first place.
