Not sure where to put this but does anybody know what's happening with St Helens travel centre? It's to remain closed today (Wed 7 Feb) with an update to follow.

I thought it may be something to do with getting rid of the paper timetables.
First the shop had a fire due to the heating system in the building as the boiler in the building was faulty so they disconnected the boiler.
With temperatures being cold over night the pipes froze and decided to crack so when they started to thaw out the place got absolutely flooded causing severe damage to the electrics.
They need a new ceiling, new tills/computers , new flooring and bits of other stuff so will be closed for a few days.

Backwards step for me, more to do with saving money than anything else they use as an excuse, not everyone has internet & smart phones, or can use computers & smart phones.

I prefer paper timetables far easier getting to the page than scrolling down on a mobile, especially if you want more than one route

I agree - but the end of paper route maps is even worse. Put a whole electronic map on screen and the text is mostly too small to read; increase magnification to read the text and it becomes hard to follow the details of a long route.

Thanks mm
Surely considering the amount of damage caused the Travelshop will be shut for more than that, I'm guessing from what you said MM that it will be shut for a couple of weeks at least.
Its opened up again today as they have had large numbers in there sorting it out.
