Quite right! My mistake.

It seems that Stagecoach and Arriva have vastly differing views when it comes to Boxing Day services .

Looking through the timetables the average finish time looks like 1745 for Stagecoach , but a little later for Arriva.

I would have thought it would make sense to have the 10A QBP service operate so the Stagecoach vehicles all finish the route in Liverpool and the Arriva ones finish at St Helens , it seems the last Arriva bus is 1 hr after the Stagecoach last service , a bit unbalanced .

Here's what's changing between 1 - 7 December 2013:

Planned changes to bus services:
79, 79C, 79D Liverpool - Netherley, Halewood or Murdishaw run by Arriva
Due to long-term roadworks, services will be rerouted to run via Brownlow Hill and
Grove Street instead of Crown Street and West Derby Street.
Y1 Cronton - Prescot run by Your Travel Borough WIde
The Monday to Friday times will be changed.

The NWVRT website has been updated details of this service. It is hoped that 0238, 0302, 2122, 6592 and 7533 will be included in the roster, with possibly a couple of other surprises thrown in.

Note that some services will leave after 8pm, (the 20.20 897 Kikrby to Huyton for example!) although very few - As with previous years most services that start after 8pm don't run but any starting before will operate the full service.

39C New Brighton - Calday Grammar School Run by Avon Buses
After running on 20 December, this service will be withdrawn.

360 Newton-le-Willows - Wigan Run by South Lancs Travel
The evening and Sunday times will be changed.
