Up there with 10000 and 12345 in the Stagecoach fleet!! As mentioned by a friend of mine, a photo op with the Merseyside Transport Trust's 1111 would be quite good!

Thanks for checking! I wonder why it doesn't appear on the DVLA site? Photos on Flickr suggest it's had that reg for at least six years, so it must be (or have been) correct, otherwise surely it would have been spotted at MoT time before now - and I would have thought that would be true even if the error was on the DVLA database rather than on the plate.

Very odd really - the registration has been used on various coaches over the years too

Looking at photos the registration was previously used by Rapsons so presumably inherited into Stagecoach after a purchase of a company along the lines somewhere?

Also interesting this is the only Volvo B7R/Plaxton Profile at Gillmoss to have a toilet as far as I know (I keep meaning to actually check the other ones but records online show the others haven't).

Stagecoach acquired Rapson's and their services in Orkney some years ago as I recall.

900RWX was previously on a Plaxton-bodied B10M used by Rapsons on National Express service 588 from Inverness to London. After they lost the NX contract, it was used on local and Citylink services until Stagecoach bought Rapsons in 2008.

When the B10M was disposed of, presumably the registration was transferred to the current vehicle.
