With yet more due this should make it possible to have deckers on such football routes but without other routes losing out as such when this happens in the same way.
It's excellent news...I suspect large orders for single deckers will be a thing of the past as it seems to be with Arriva.....

The amount of double deckers in the Stagecoach M&SL fleet has increased significantly recently. No less than 65 Enviro400s were ordered for Gillmoss in the 2016/17 order - that's an excellent investment and it provides a massive increase in capacity in Liverpool on some of its busiest routes
It is excellent news about the new deckers. As far as consolidation is concerned in Manchester all but a couple of independents have disappeared whereas in Merseyside there are still a number of potential icandidates for Stagecach in addition to Halton and Warrington. You think about Avon, Cumfybus, HTL and Hattons for example maybe the CMA might have been the hurdle.

There's no point in taking over Cumfybus or HTL as they mainly operate contracted services. In theory you could take them over and lose most of your network just as quickly.
Stagecoach have tried multiple times to buy the Cheshire municipals, however neither will sell out to them.
Almost all of Avon's routes are also just diminished contracts so would not make profit under Stagecoach
