Got to be slightly more to it than just depreciated coaches - there are plenty of almost/fully depreciated single decks around group that could have been used.

They obviously want to use something a bit more appealing than your normal single deck and think that coaches will be more appealing to passengers which they undoubtably will be. Not sure how many people use this corridor but the 82A or 500 as it will be will certainly lose some users to the X5.

Coaches have the feel that they are more express. It could have the same running time as all the other buses but because it is a coach, the whole journey feels quicker.

Stagecoash's other X5 (Oxford - Cambridge) use to be double deckers then since then switch over to coaches

Some residents around the Widnes estates are going to have quite a shock when they see these coaches going past their houses for the first time!
Many will be more used to seeing Solos going past.

The Volvo demo LF67EVV (80040) out and about on the 82 today.....can't see the number carried externally at least though

Surprised to see it still has Arriva Fasttrack on the display board at the front of the bus. Also worth noting its the old logo for Arriva.
