142's soon be a thing of the past , would it also be for driver route and signal training as well considering the length of time the route has been out of comission.
I just want to remind that Blackpool North station will reopen this Monday (16th April).

It is actually a phased return to Blackpool North with a limited service , supplemented still by a replacement bus service still.

This is probably the best way to reintroduce the service so that any hiccups can sorted easily.
Surely a better way would have been to have kept closed until a full service can run as it's guaranteed most passengers will try to cram on to the hourly service with replacement buses running near to empty. I have also read that a planned switch on of the overhead wires has been postponed (it was due to have taken place this weekend)so I think reopening is possibly a little premature.
Here's an another preview of Blackpool north station.

The new platform 1 and 2 seem to be the longest platforms on the station , would an eleven car pendolino be able to fit on this platform ?

I think an 9-car pendolino can fit into platforms 1 and 2.

Its now been advised that the amended timetable will be in operation until at least May 4th , something tells me that something is not quite right yet.
