Looking at journey check earlier, noticed that there's also a diesel substitute on the Liverpool - Blackpool circuit as well.

That was 156466
A few sightings from today:-
142032+153363 on a Clitheroe working. Fierst time that I have seen a 142 on this service.
142086 was by itself on a Southport to Leeds working.
142060+142029 were on a Wigan NW to Alderley Edge working.
195107/12/13 + 1 other at Blackpool North for crew training.
150120/125 are both in the new livery.
As I went to Edinburgh for Easter, I travelled via Preston both ways. The 06.17 from Heaton Chapel to Preston on Good Friday, I think originating from Alderley Edge, was diesel (150 + 156), as were most trains passing me the other way via Bolton. Conversely, on Easter Sunday I caught the 19.08 from Preston to Manchester Piccadilly but this was electric (319).

Maybe more Horwich line trains are electric on Sundays but will have to wait until the May timetable change to go electric daily.

Wigan-Bolton isn't wired and neither is Manchester-Stalybridge. DfT decided Northern could have 769s due to electrification being delayed but 769s have been delayed as well!

The trains did not go via Wigan, just via Bolton and Horwich.
So where was electrified? Just Manchester to Preston via Bolton and Horwich?
