Indeed. It's a shame for the sake of completeness that the remaining two 319/3's won'r be joining the fleet.

SD.
There is an unconfirmed report Northern will get 3 extra 319s (converted to 769s) in lieu of getting the complete set of Angel 150s from GWR.
On what routes would the Class 769 units likely be used on.
Think I"ve seen Manchester - Barrow/Windermere and the new direct Wigan - Stalybridge service being mentioned in certain items mentioned in consultation documents.
Alderley Edge to Wigan via Bolton interworked with Wigan to Stalybridge via Bolton and Manchester Airport to Windermere were the routes mentioned which will require 7 of the 8 x 769s in daily usage. Manchester Airport to Windermere is temporary until 2019 as the 769s don't meet the required 'Northern Connect' spec. There's talk of Alderley Edge to Wigan being extended to Southport using 769s at the December 2019 timetable change.

I reported this in Post 406 two weeks ago!
I brought it up because of the claim Northern will get all but 2 of the /3s. If they get an additional 3 sets they might finish up getting all the /3s. Although if the final two /3s are particularly unreliable then maybe Northern won't want them if there's other 319s available.
Class 769s are only being sourced from 319/4s.
If there's 3 more created are we sure they'll all be /4s? Porterbrook are claiming there could be a large number of 769s produced - if that happened 319s which aren't /4s would have to be converted.
You seem to be raising situations that may be probably never exist. There are currently orders for 16 x 769s. 40 were oriinally converted to 319/4 which means that anorher 24 are available before /0 or /2 would be required.
