Just spotted 714 in old swan with what looked like an engineer behind the wheel and black surrounds on the headlights what was it doing there

Correct , all the optare solo sr's are due M.O.T as during it they get there wheels painted silver as they stand out like a sore thumb.

Solo 721 had failed on Baldwin Street at the traffic lights with Cotham Street in St Helens around 630 it was being hooked upto RNW when I went past

I saw 2695 at 0915 or so this morning with Rail Replacement on the desty. It was on Bickerstaffe Street and proceeded towards Cotham Street. I’m not sure if there was any public onboard but there was a second driver.

Is anybody able to enlighten me on this?
