Working on the assumption that deckers are still planned for the 10/A (which was what, circa 20?) then a number of new buses could accompany Cadet cascades from Runcorn to make up the remaining 40.
Cadets are a good size for St Helens' local routes and the Pulsars from the 10/A could then make up any other route allocations. I mention Cadet cascades from Runcorn specifically as their need for full size vehicles for the likes of the 79C is far greater than St Helens' need for full size single decks on local routes which, as mentioned, are perfectly served by the likes of Cadets.
Ive been told st helens are suppose to be receiving some second hand pulsars but no date or timescale as been given and is still touch and go wether deckers are going there or not.
Arriva have received a number of comments from passengers on their Facebook page in response to their post about Speke's new Enviro400s, asking for deckers on the 10/10A. They have replied to these today, and their message seems to be that they're "working on it" but can't promise anything yet.
They seem to realise the need at least, and while it's not as promising as the plan for Green Lane to receive deckers, is better than a flat out refusal.
They're working on it, yet have still decided to take a bus out of the 10 road.. Madness!
The drop from a 10 minute frequency to 12 minutes, along with the introduction of the QBP, were when the problems on these routes really became as exacerbated as they now are and for as long as the current form of service revisions are made, nothing will change. Even if deckers are introduced, running times need looking at - at the very least on the 10s - else deckers will just follow each other around all day too.
Don't know if it is an effect of the new timetables being tight or just delays but the 2137 10 from St Helens (3047) came in about 3 minutes late with passengers onboard from previous journey. Previously this journey would have just been on layover before starting service.
2349 is currently on 10a, just had the dubious pleasure of riding it although not for all that far.
Bit of an allocation change today in that the reign of B10BLE's on 34/34A has been broken - 2238 & 2271 on there today.
I saw a dart yesterday displaying a yellow blank on the 20.
Surely it would have had Earlestown on there, even if not Vista Road?
