They will probably look again after the review is complete.

Stagecoach pay better and have a stronger union. Attractive things for a driver.

It seems to be a case of moving the deckchairs around , at one point drivers where moving from Stagecoach to Arriva .

The review comes into affect in September so i think something would be done before then
Pay has something to do with it Mabey, but after talking to a couple of ex Avon drivers I think the main issues are the state of there buses especially the drivers seats being brought up a lot, long hours at the wheel and the rotas
Smaller companies work to the law exactly so 10 hours is a long time at the wheel. Stagecoach can afford that little bit more leeway in their services to allow a slightly longer break and less driving time. Most of Stagecoach drivers keep moving to Arriva Laird Street and if Avon are moving to Stagecoach, they are literally just passing the problem to a different company.
You might as well say that stagecoach is just arriva's driving school and avon is stagecoach's as theres been a few from gillmoss move over to arriva.
While being on loan to birkenhead for the rail reps ive seen quite a few of avons buses coming in for m.o.t and must say they dont look anything like arriva or stagecoaches when theres go for m.o.t and must say avons apperance for m.o.t is dreadful with bent panels and scuff marks from etc.

Sounds like your going to miss the rail replacement work , you do wonder whether they have now got too much work on there hands now for the amount of drivers they do have .
It's a shame because Avon's fleet used to always be presentable, and the interiors clean and tidy. In the last couple of years especially it's really deteriorated. I'd hate to see them in a position where they end up disappearing.
