So net result of the competition between Stagecoach and Avon is that the through service from Chester to West Kirby that had run for over 50 years has been lost. Not exactly a win for the passenger!
Add that too the net result of the new 38a is that Saughall Massie has lost a 30 min evening and Sunday service to an hourly service. Again to passenger is losing out.
It is swings and roundabouts , there probably isnt the traffic between West kirby and Moreton for a 30 min service unfortunately.
Today I was at West Kirby and Holylake, I'm spotted that Avon 156 really terribly heavy black smoking back of this bus. Need sort it out!!

I saw freshly-painted Avon 454 (KP54 BYR) on the 135 yesterday.
It's a 29-seat ADL DartSLF/Pointer2.
As seen here a few years' ago when it was with Blue Diamond...

That bus seems to be living on 135/235 this week, I have seen it on there a few times this week including today.
I should imagine Avon will be getting a few more new (or newer) buses with winning more Merseytravel contracts.
Gotta feel sorry for CUMFYBUS though, it's turning into a bad year for them.
To be honest, I don't feel sorry for them, it might even have been their decision not to carry on, certainly don't miss seeing so many of their mismatched panelled untidy looking buses around Bootle.
