The fact that they might employ drivers from eastern Europe who may or may not be fluent in English (it's Polish not polish) has no bearing on whether they are competent drivers. I've driven across Europe and only have a smattering of French and Spanish but does that make me a bad driver? The fundamental problem is that bus operation, like all public services , is on a race to the bottom.

Wasn't meant in a racist way at all and yes I'm sure there's plenty of drivers from Eastern Europe that drive perfectly well. The fact is a lot of these Eastern European drivers will work for a lot less than others. It's harder to get taken on at bigger companies like stagecoach and first because they insist on a good level of English being spoken and understood where as the smaller ops well don't care.
I don't know about you but when you get on a bus and struggle to get the driver to understand where your going or what ticket u want, then watch most other passengers getting on having the same issue all because the driver speaks little or no English isn't really very acceptable.
This is going well off topic but if your going to work with the british public then really you should be able to speak English to a good standard..
The main issue at present is Avon don't have enough drivers and therefore bus services that aren't running. I'd personally take any driver at the minute

Wish Avon wouldn't use the MCV Evolutions on the 22, nice enough route used it yesterday but because of the lack off leg room, was glad to get off knees, legs started aching just after Heswall.

Saw an Avon driver training vehicle out and about today -- a good sign.
However, also saw an Avon bus on route 17 with hazards on, seemingly at a standstill.
The problems continue today with sropped/cancelled journeys on 16, 17, 91 & 92.
